Northside Hospital is the location of the most births in Georgia. It is only 2.5 miles from my house. My older son and his wife welcomed their first child, Hannah, into the world about 1:30am. I returned to Atlanta driving Vanna White from Reliance, TN and arrived about 1:30pm. In the campground, I was unable to make a cell phone call from the valley, so – as soon as I had a cell signal I called my son. He said that the baby and mother were fine and in a room. After I arrived, I was able to hold her was the experience was absolutely incredible! (It had been quite a while since I have held a newborn.) She’s beautiful – No, No, NO — Not ALL babies look alike. She has a beautiful head of dark hair.
In the hospital just after being born, the staff trained us to ‘wrap-her-up’ in a blanket so that she would feel warm like in the womb. After birth, she began her ‘every-four-hours’ feedings. As I write this, she is growing, gaining weight and her mother is recovering from the delivery.
Welcome to our world, “Pumpkin”. You are a precious, little angel and we are blessed that you are here. May you live long and prosper!
