2020-09-22 Drive from GA,Atl to GA,Clayton Sarah's Creek Campground is about 110 miles.

It is 110 miles from Atlanta to the campground and Google Maps indicates that it takes about 2 hours to drive. Also, Google Maps has a several pictures of the waterfall at the campground that others have posted about their visit there. It is a VERY short walking distance from campsite #1 to the waterfall and the sound of the creek tumbling over the rocks was great. I am a member of a meetup-group named 'Off-the-grid' and our host posted this campground and the dates of the outing. There was the usual heavy traffic when leaving Atlanta and the weather was beautiful.

A degrading hurricane, named Sally, had just passed through the area and another degrading hurricane, named Beta, was providing rain on Thursday morning when I left. The group only stayed two nights but the outing was wonderful. I did not hike with the others who knew of nearby trails, but I enjoyed the company of camping with others and just being outside in the wonderful weather. By the way, the campground has about 1 mile of winding, single-lane, paved road that turns into a good gravel road to the campsites (which is about a mile long). There is a kiosk where you pay for the campsite that you choose and there are no reservations. A relatively new, vault toilet is located near campsite #3 and there are nearby, bear-proof, trash bins. There were more campsites down the road, but I didn't see them. Of course, a 14-day limit applies to the camping and rangers visit frequently.
