The drive from my house to Nashville is 250 miles and takes 3hours and 45 minutes by google-maps.
I went with Seniors-On-the-Go-Tours to Nashville and EVERYONE had a WONDERFUL time! The bus picked up many people from the Del Webb community and then came to Cannon Methodist Church in Lawrenceville to complete the passenger loading. We made a rest-stop in Georgia and had lunch at the Bell Buckle Cafe. We ate in the 'backroom' and had a delicious lunch.

Afterward, we proceeded to the Opryland Hotel and our tour-guide gave us our room-keys. We had 'special' luggage tags and the hotel bellmen brought our gear to our room. A guide showed us the area for our walk and we were given maps of the hotel. I think that we were told that it is 9 acres under the roof and much of it is glass. All of it is beautiful. We stayed 2 nights and on Friday night, the hotel was full. (2,888 rooms)

The first night of the trip, we went to downtown Nashville and watched the Amy Grant and Vince Gill Christmas Show at the Ryman Auditorium. I think that the show was also sold-out. It was an excellent show and I think that everyone enjoyed it.

We had breakfast included with the tour and the Tennessee Ballroom was set-up for all the tours to eat there. We were given a breakfast ticket to present and the buffet was quick and efficient.
We had lunch on the General Jackson Showboat and saw a very energetic show afterward. The musicians and singers were excellent and the show was wonderful. The boat cruised from near the Opryland Hotel to the downtown area and returned. We watched the scenery as the show was performed.

We returned to the Opryland Hotel and had 'time out' for the afternoon. At night, we had tickets to the Oak Ridge Boys concert. Which, of course, was GREAT! I had never seen them before and really enjoyed the show. All of the performers in Nashville are 'above all the others'.

We were sad the next morning that our trip was coming to an end. We packed and left the Opryland Hotel with fond memories - and a few pounds heavier because of eating all the good food. We had a 'step-on' guide show us Nashville. We stopped at the Parthenon and the Map Park.

After a couple of 'tourist' stops, we made ONE-LAST-STOP before leaving Nashville. We had BBQ for lunch at Ole Smoky Distillary. I did some Christmas shopping before leaving.

I have to tell 'the rest of the story'. We made a comfort-stop at Buc-ee's in Adairsville. I've previously posted some pictures from there.
