2022-05-02 Monday (Day 1 of trip)

Drive to Rocky Mount, NC; rest stops at Welcome Centers; lunch at cafeteria near Raleigh,NC

To drive directly to Kitty Hawk, NC from Atlanta would be 9 hours and 45 minutes (625miles).

The tour planner, Cathy, had the tour-bus drive us first to Rocky Mount, NC. We stayed overnight in a Hilton Hotel.

Everyone was 'all-present-and-accounted-for' on the bus by 8AM. We left from a church parking lot in Snellville, GA. It is about 20 miles from my house to the church.

We stopped in rest-areas at state lines for restroom breaks and ate lunch at a cafeteria in Gastonia,NC. I had a GREAT time on the trip AND we had GREAT weather (no rain ON us - it was all around us)

2022-05-04 Wednesday (Day 3 of trip)
Cape Hatteras National Seashore and Lighthouse, Bodie Isand Lighthouse, drive through many villages including Rodanthe Village, Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum Note: we had a local guide with us all day telling us much information about the area.

drive to ferry and 1 hour trip to Ocracoke Island, tour the island and eat box picnic lunch from Jason's, back to Hatteras on ferry, dinner at local restaurant

2022-05-09_GADoraville-car repair shop

The catalytic converter under my van was stolen while I was away on the tour. I was told that the van was selected because it is high off-the-ground and, therefore, doesn't require to be hoisted in order to steal the catalytic converter.

I consulted with my favorite mechanic about the repair and he recommended that I take it to a muffler shop near me and that is what I did.

I took the picture below in the repair shop to show the place where a muffler pipe was cut and the catalytic converter taken.
