2023-10-10_to_2023-10-15 TN Copperhill, Camping with fellow Van-Owners

The distance was 100 miles (about 2 hours) according to Google Maps.

I have camped with others near Copperhill,TN for several years. Each year, the campers who are able to gather is different. Several years ago, this camping area was very popular with both campers and fisherman. The road to the campers is also used by fisherman who haul trailers with boats to a nearby lake. This year, the activity in-and-out of the campground was quiet. I believe that the fish hatchery has quit stocking the lake and the fishermen know that better fishing occurs in other areas.

This time-of-year normally provides for 'leaf-peeping', that is - being outside while the leaves turn colors and fall off the trees. As usual, we enjoyed a lot of conversation and sharing of supper/dinner. Also, as usual, we ate hot dogs and soup.

I had planned to stay nearly two weeks. However, after camping several days, the weather forecast was for lower temperatures as well as high-probability of rain for several days. Rather than reading books and waiting for better weather, I decided to return home early. After all, the drive was only a couple of hours. I really enjoyed my time in camp and meeting the new van travellers who came, as well as camping with previous friends.
