2024-09-07_to_2024-09-15 ONNiagaraFalls - Ontario,Canada-NiagaraFalls with Seniors On the Go Tours

The distance was 916 miles (about 14 hours) from Atlanta according to the shortest-distance calculated by GoogleMaps.

Our tour director was Cathy Stokes and she uses Kelly Tours for bus charter. Our bus driver was 'Bob-the-bus-driver'. We had good weather almost every day - a little rain one day but Cathy adjusted our schedule to see the state park. We ate OUTSTANDING food at many restaurants. Also, we had dinner in an Amish house that was arranged by our local tourguide. We had a step-on tourguides for Buffalo, Niagara Falls and Amish Ohio country. We got to see much more than the falls, but - I took too many pictures to show many of them. In previous posts, I have included some pictures of the food that I eat. I did not post food pictures here because there would be too many pictures for the page. One last item. I started this website before Google put pictures on their maps. I encourage the viewer to also see the Google pictures.

We park our cars at a church and load the bus for the trip. When I arrived, there were already many people in line for the choice of seats.

The next picture is where we stopped for lunch in Morgantown,WV. Cathy found an exit that had multiple fast-food options. I ordered a burrito at the nearby Taco Bell and took this picture as I walked back to the bus.

We spent the first night in Bleckley, WV. A couple of Visitors Centers rest stops and lunch at a cafeteria in Gastonia,NC. Our second night was at the Hotel M in Buffalo,NY. Our tour director had planned for us to have dinner at the hotel restaurant or a nearby mall food court. After arriving, we were told that the hotel restaurant was not open and the mall food court closed at 6pm. Our tour director made unforseen closures into an opportunity by ordering Olive Garden dinner. She was able to get the hotel to use a van and deliver the spaghetti or alfredo with noodles, stick bread, and salad to the restaurant area and we gathered there.

In Buffalo, we toured the Frank Lloyd Wright house - This picture is of the indoor garden and prominent statue. It was stunning. By the way, we were not allowed to take pictures inside the house. I considered this to be part of the outside since we had exitted the back door of the house.

We crossed the border at the Queenstown Lewiston Bridge. We had to wait a while as busses in front of us unloaded and entered the building. We had to present our passport to agents and answer questions about our possessions. I had previously seen signs to not take pictures at border crossings. After returning home, I was able to see some outside pictures of buildings on GoogleMaps. We reboarded and went to the Embassy Suites in Niagara Falls for the next 3 nights. We unloaded the bus near the Valet Parking underneath the hotel. I think that the hotel has 40 floors and the elevators were frequently heavily used.

We toured the area on the bus and I loved the flowers in the center dividing area of the streets. Plus, there were gardens and other beautiful areas.

We had lunch at the Skylon Tower Restaurant. It revolved so that we could see the whole area while dining. We had 'pre-ordered' our meal and the food was exceptional - perfect. The service was so efficient, we couldn't believe how fast we received the food.
